Your shop software should be one less thing to worry about.

One of us runs an independent auto repair shop. The other builds software.

We started WrenchEasy together after a billing problem became a much bigger lesson in how a company can let its customers down.

The shop’s software billing got messed up. Then came an unexpected balance and the conversations about how to pay it back gradually. There were questions to untangle, arrangements to negotiate, and a business to keep running through all of it.

The software provider had its billing problem. The shop owner inherited the work of dealing with it.

That stayed with us.

A company’s responsibility doesn’t end when it gets paid.

When someone pays for software, they’re trusting another business with part of their working day.

They’re trusting the numbers. The records. The bill that arrives each month. And when something goes wrong, they’re trusting that someone will listen and help.

We believe that trust creates an obligation.

A company should explain what it charges. It should care about the time its customers spend trying to get help. And when it makes a mistake, it should take responsibility for putting things right.

These should be ordinary expectations. We intend to build our company around them.

Independent shops deserve to be taken seriously.

A few bays, a small team, and customers who ask for you by name can be a business worth building for a lifetime.

That business deserves thoughtful tools. It deserves clear prices and useful answers. Its owner’s time matters, even when the question is inconvenient. Its problems deserve attention, even when solving them won’t produce another sale.

We want to help independent shop owners make a good living, take care of their customers, and stay in control of the businesses they’ve built.

The shop owner decides what a better business looks like. Our job is to make the work easier.

We’re starting with the work in front of us.

Our first step is straightforward: estimates and invoices for independent auto repair shops.

One of us brings the experience of doing that work. The other brings the ability to build the tools. Together, we’re creating the kind of product—and the kind of company—we wanted to deal with.

Tools that make sense. Bills you understand. People who take responsibility when you need help.

We’ll make mistakes. Every company does. We want to be judged by how we respond: whether we listen, whether we explain, and whether we follow through.

Better business is something we can build.

We want a world where people can depend on the companies they pay. Where getting help doesn’t become another job. Where a small business receives the same consideration its owner tries to give every customer who walks through the door.

That change has to show up in everyday decisions: a price explained before a commitment, a question answered with care, a mistake resolved without making someone chase us.

We’re starting with one product and the shops that use it. Every customer gives us an opportunity to put these beliefs into practice.

Running a shop is hard enough. Let’s make this part easier.
