What belongs on an auto repair invoice?

A useful invoice explains who did the work, which vehicle it was for, what was supplied, and what the customer owes.

  • Your shop name and contact information
  • Customer name and relevant vehicle details
  • Invoice number, issue date, and optional due date
  • Parts, quantities, labor hours, and rates
  • Taxable items, tax rate, and total
  • Payment instructions and any relevant notes

Review your local requirements and the finished document before sending it. WrenchEasy calculates the amounts you enter; it does not look up labor times, prices, or tax rules.

Questions before your first invoice?

Is the auto repair invoice generator free?

Yes. Create an account with Google or Microsoft, save your invoices, and download PDFs without a credit card or subscription.

Can I add both parts and labor?

Yes. Add a line for each part or service. Use quantity for parts and hours for labor, set your rates, and select which lines are taxable.

Do I need to sign in?

Yes. Google or Microsoft sign-in creates your WrenchEasy account so your invoices can be saved and reopened. It does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

Can I download a PDF or email it to my customer?

You can download a PDF and attach it to an email yourself. Sending invoices directly from WrenchEasy is not available yet.

Can I use it as a mechanic invoice template?

Yes. Enter your shop details once, then use the builder for your next repair invoice. You can edit the customer, vehicle, parts, labor, tax, and payment instructions for each job.

Does this create estimates or collect customer approvals?

Not yet. This version creates invoices. Estimates, customer approvals, and repair-order workflows are planned, but are not included in the current tool.

What are the current limits?

The generator uses US dollars and supports up to 40 line items. Quantity, rate, and tax percentage accept two decimal places. PDF text currently supports Western European characters.
